Incident Command Training
This course allows Incident Commanders and other ICS positions the ability to refine and reinforce the skills and knowledge necessary to successfully respond to an incident involving any man-made or natural hazard. Through the use of a state-of-the-art simulation facility, participants are cast into the initial response of an incident and expected to establish a formal incident command post.
The simulator is intended for participants from any discipline to practice with the response protocols and procedures specific to their jurisdiction with the Incident Command System. Through eight (8) different simulations, each utilizing a variety of scenarios, participants will learn and gain confidence in a physically safe, non-consequential environment. These simulations are real-time scenarios that change in nature depending on the participant’s decisions and strategies. The HFD Strategic Simulator is a unique facility that utilizes advanced, custom-designed technology to actively engage the participant in a totally immersive visual and auditory environment designed to challenge and enhance the participant’s abilities.
